General InformationCanterbury lies on the sunnybanks of the River Stour. Many historical structures and properties remain in the city, including a wall founded in roman times and rebuilt in the 14 th centuary, the ruins of St Augustines Abbey and a Norman Castle, and perhaps the oldest school in England, The Kings School.
Modern additions include the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University, the Marlowe Theatre, dan croke fair trading, and the St Lawrence Ground, home to the Kent County Cricket Club.
